Carillion Building has awarded Promat licensed installer, Sharpfibre, the contract to construct seven new Promat DURASTEEL^® barriers inside the new satellite building T5C at London Heathrow airport.

Promat DURASTEEL^® systems have been used to protect people and property against the risk of fire and blast for nearly 50 years. More recently, a number of Promat DURASTEEL^® barrier systems have been installed to prevent catastrophic damage in the event of power transformer blasts.

Sharpfibre is celebrating picking up the prize for Specialist contractor in the category of Fire protection at the Construction News awards 2009.

Promat DURASTEEL® has been specified to provide fire protection to a £1.1 million secure storage unit in Dublin, Ireland. Promat DURASTEEL® licensee Invicta Group was chosen by one of the world’s leading archival storage solution companies to design and install a fireprotected vault to securely store sensitive digital media and confidential documents.

Promat DURASTEEL®, the high performance fit-and-forget barrier, is being put to the test on London's newest Tube station. Promat DURASTEEL® has been specified for three separate contract packages on Wood Lane station, a gateway to the hugh new Westfield London shopping and leisure complex that opened for business in October 2008.
